Some ideas arrive in the most unexpected places
It began in 2017, standing in one of those touristy shops at Niagara Falls, staring at a rack of souvenir keychains. Like so many of us, the search started with hope. Maybe this time will be different... maybe one familiar name.
But it wasn't there. No Kiran. No Simran. Not a Rajdeep in sight. There were plenty of Karens though!
To be honest, it wasn't just about a keychain... it was about belonging.
Why did our names always seem like an afterthought? Why weren't our stories and our culture celebrated the way everyone else's seemed to be?
That question stayed long after leaving Niagara Falls, and instead of waiting for someone else to create the things we wished existed, we decided to make them ourselves.
We wanted to make pieces that remind us of home, pieces that honour our parents and grandparents, celebrate our language, carry inside jokes only our community understands, and proudly showcase the traditions that shaped us. Not because they're trendy, but because they've always deserved to be celebrated.
It wasnt until 2020, during one of the most uncertain times in the world that this vision, creativity and passion, finally became a reality and KIRAN AND CO. launched.
Our very first collection was created in support of the Kisaan Morcha. Those designs weren't simply products, they were expressions of solidarity, resilience, pride, and hope. They reminded us why this journey had begun in the first place... to create pieces that mean something.
From there, what started as one small idea slowly became something much bigger than we ever imagined, and as the brand grew, so did our vision, and that evolution led to a new name.
Together, they reflect everything this brand has become; rooted in heritage, inspired by stories, and created for people who deserve to see themselves reflected in the things they wear, gift, and cherish.
We're proud to be a Canadian small business, with every product thoughtfully designed, packed, and shipped in-house. Every order is a labour of love, inspired by our community and created with care.
So whether you're gifting a Khao Peeo Padh Maro onesie, or cozying up in your Kambal & Chaa sweater, thank you for letting us bring a little more culture, connection, and joy into your life. Because representation isn't just about finding your name on a keychain... It's about knowing your story belongs.
What began as one small idea has grown into a celebration of identity, nostalgia, and the little things that make us who we are. And maybe you'll never know what it feels like to search for your name and never find it, but if you've ever wished the world made a little more room for your story, then you are exactly why MITTI AND MUSE exists, and we're so grateful you're here.
A message from the founder
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
Before I thank anyone, I want to thank Waheguru. None of this would exist without His blessings. Thank you Waheguru, for planting this idea in my heart. Every open door, every moment of doubt that passed, every blessing, every lesson, every opportunity I didn't see coming, it all came through Your grace. 🙏🏽

When I first started this journey, my goal was simple... I wanted to create things we couldn't find on the racks. The pieces that made us laugh. The pieces that celebrated our language, our faith, and the little moments that make our culture so beautiful. The pieces that make you stop and say,"this is so me!"
Today, that dream hasn't changed. It's grown.
As a mother, this journey means more to me now than ever before. I want my children to grow up knowing they never have to shrink who they are to fit in. I want them to wear their culture proudly, and to celebrate the history that makes them who they are.
More than anything, I hope they see that when you keep Waheguru at the forefront of everything you do, incredible things happen. Dreams don't always come easily, but with faith, hard work, and His guidance, they're always worth chasing.
